ARVC-Michigan Elects New Board of Directors

(MIO, Mich) – A new board of directors was elected on October 20 at the Association of RV Parks & Campgrounds-Michigan annual fall convention in Chelsea. Directors are elected to two year terms; officers serve a one year term. ARVC-Michigan officers and directors for the coming year include:

ARVC represents 250 member campgrounds with more than 32,000 sites available throughout the state. The 2008 Michigan Campground Directory, published by ARVC – Michigan, is available at various locations statewide, including all Welcome Centers. A PDF version is also available for viewing online at www.michcampgrounds.com. The directory not only lists campgrounds by region, but also includes helpful information on the type of sites available, various amenities such as restroom, laundry and dumping station facilities; recreational offerings such as pools and golf courses; and seasons of operation. Campgrounds that now offer wireless internet access onsite are also identified.

ARVC Michigan’s mission is to lead in the development of the RV Parks and Campground industry through education, communication and representation. ARVC Michigan is a member of the National Association of RV Parks & Campgrounds (www.gocampingamerica.com).

Cracker-barrel!

This is your time to discuss: anything and everything. The cracker-barrel has become a mainstay at the fall convention. It is your chance to ask a room full of experts in the campground industry your most important question. Because of the great turnout the cracker-barrel is again scheduled for Sunday night.

Campground Tour!

On Monday October 20th we will set out on buses to tour area campgrounds. There is no better way to learn new ideas than to tour campgrounds and have the opportunity to ask the owner/operator questions about how and why he/she does things certain ways. This year we will be visiting

Seminars!

We have got some great seminars for you this fall. Green Cleaning and Recycling will begin the day off with an exciting seminar done by Craig Banes also. And then we will end the day with seminars by the Michigan Film Industry and one on Geocaching.

Hospitality!

The convention is about relaxing, having a good time, making new friends and visiting with your friends you haven’t seen in a while. During the convention you will have ample opportunities in an informal atmosphere to share ideas relating to all facets of the campground industry with other campgrounds owners/operators.

How to Reserve a Room!

You need to call the Comfort Inn at (734)433-8000. They will make your reservation for you. The rate is $94.00 single or double. Make sure you mention that you are with the ARVC Michigan group.

How to Register for the Convention!

The last page is the registration form. Please fill it out and send it along with payment to the ARVC Michigan office before October 16th. We hope to see you in Chelsea. Registration will be accepted at the conference space permitting

Fall 2007 ARVC Michigan Campground Tour & Convention

The Fall Campground Tour and Convention was held this year in the Big Rapids area, home of Ferris State University. The Convention was held at the Big Rapids Holiday Inn which did a very nice job of accommodationg our group.

The Tour started out on Monday morning, a beautiful morning with bright sunshine and mild temperatures. We boarded the two tour buses and headed out for our campground tour. The first stop was Cran-Hill Ranch owned by Cran-Hill Ranch Corporation. There was a lot of construction going on and it was quite plain to see that the additions were going to be very beautiful and functionable.
